Although Anthony was defeated by Octavius, and his failure cannot be attributed to that he loves Cleopatra, he did had a great relationship withCleopatra. In order to meet the needs of Cleopatra's ambition, he gifted many territoriesto Cleopatra; because of the obsession with the queen, he was stranded in Egypt for a long time. He has done all this, and his relationship with Cleo Peto La at last arousesRoman’s discontent, which eventually led to his failure.
Not only beautiful appearance, Cleo Peto La also has enough wisdom, courage and insight. Her exist indirectly caused damageof the Rome society, but she does is only for aim of winning 22-years’peace forthe weak Egypt (Plutarch ,1995). She is wise, her beauty is not a decoration, she can smartly use her beauty to earn for themselves the right to fight for peace to the country. She is having courage and insight, in order to obtain the support at Rome, and she is brave enough to see Kaiser alone, in order to defend her dignity, she is able to make two men service for her;she is a goddess, standing in the world with calm and sacred pose. She may have a lot of shortage, butshe is a real heroinein my eyes.
Though the film has ended, the characters in the filmoften appear in my mind; although the ending is not so perfect,I do remember the three different characters and the beautiful heroine and remember the magnificent Rome society.According to my understanding, I'm writing this review, may be my standpoints are not correct in regular thinking, I do feel Cleo Peto La is a heroine and Kaiser and Antonio are real heros.
