Introduction是对作者研究内容和价值的概括，有高度的凝练性，可以很大程度上反映文章的水平，因此对作者的写作功底是极大的考验，那么如何才能写出一个满分的introduction呢？
一个好的引言（introduction）需要：
1. Provide context to the issue.提供所写主题的大环境。
2. Orient the reader to your paper.对读者起到指导作用。
3.Tell the reader what thaey need to know.告诉读者他们需要知道的东西。
4. Be interesting and applicable to the reader.要去吸引读者，适应读者。
写essay的开头真的这么难吗！实际上，写essay的introduction，是有步骤的！
第一步：初步构思你的introduction，稍稍勾勒出来。
Read your main idea. Now, write a complete sentence about your main idea.
第二步：扩充你的introduction，记住写它是为了吸引读者注意！
Reread your introductory sentence. Add one or two more sentences explaining your main idea. Remember that the job of your introductory paragraph is to get your reader’s attention.
第三步：写完正文后，再来改改改。
那具体我们怎么写introduction呢？有没有套路？我们提供了三个结构供大家参考。
（一）SPQR架构
SPQR架构，就是由Situation、Problem、Question和Response四个部分组成， SPQR架构用于组织文章中的观点，对前言的展开和文章的整体架构具有很强的指导作用。
（1）Situation 情景
这就是你对于这篇文章的topic，你首先很想勾勒的情景。
一般这个situation statement是平凡的，或者一个大家都普遍认可的大道理或者现象。这个点在于，你说的这个话，是感觉很正确的话——“truth universally acknowledged的话。这样才能让老师和读者产生共鸣，给出hook，引人上钩，忍不住看。后面会有例子的。
（2）Problem 难题
这个就是situation的引申。这个情景，有没有什么东西让它变得更困难，更复杂？
它有可能是因为：
有些事情是错的，而导致的。
有不同的声音或者阻扰。
一些新的变化或发展导致的
其他任何有可能的原因
那这个难题就会引到下面的question了。
（3）Question 问题
这个问题就是你需要回答的essay question了，也就是你在这篇论文研究的主要问题。
有时候，你在想这个question的时候，就会跳回前部分的problem，然后再做调整。
而回答问题，就自然跳到下面的response了。
（4）Response 回答
这就是你的essay statement或者thesis statement。对于前面的问题，你是怎么回应的。
（二）Build a case for your work
引言要做到引导读者（Lead the reader），也就是要创建一个案例（Build a case for your work），具体表现如下：
Provide background information, for context
给文章大环境提供背景信息
Briefly discuss related work
简要介绍相关研究
Identify missing pieces
找出先前研究的缺陷
Introduce your study (thesis statement)
介绍你的研究（论点陈述）
（三）分层次
其实，写论文的introduction确实是有层次的，给大家摆出来。不过说实话，大同小异。
（1）第一层：
Introducing the general research area including its background, importance, and present level of development.介绍一般研究领域，包括其背景，重要性和现有的发展水平。
Reviewing previous research in this area.回顾以前在这方面的研究。
（2）第二层：
Indicating the problem that has not been solved by previous research, raising a relevant question.
指出以往研究尚未解决的问题，提出相关问题。
（3）第三层：
Specifying the purpose of your research.指定研究的目的。
（4）第四层：
Announcing your major findings.宣布你的主要发现。
Outlining the contents of your paper.概述你的论文的内容。
