The data which was carried out by the experiment is showing below:
Introduction and Objectives
This experiment is the compress test on steel struts. There are seven cylindrical struts in this experiment with the diameter of 6mm and within the length range from 30mm to 210mm. The main experiment equipment of this experiment is the compression-testing machine. The data which produced by the compression-testing machine is showing in the first beginning of this report.
The objective of this experiment is to do analysis on the struts mechanical property. Some analysis and calculation will be done to get the failure stress, the Euler failure stress, Rankine failure stress,Perry-Robertson failure stress and AISC stress failure stress. The failure stress curves of these seven struts are also one of the objectives of this experiment.

The main content of this part is the result analysis of this experiment.
Failure Stress
In line with the failure stress formula:
The failure stress of these seven struts is showing in the following table.

Euler Failure Stress
The Euler stress formula which showing below is not fit for all the struts; it has its using conditions.
RankineFailure Stress
On the basis of the below Rankine stress formula, the Rankine failure stresses of these seven struts in the experiment are showing in the following table.
Perry-Robertson Failure Stress
On the basis of the below Perry-Robertson stress formula, the Perry-Robertson failure stresses of these seven struts in the experiment are showing in the following table.
Conclusion
To sum up, the following table is showing the failure stresses calculated by different mechanical models.
The results of the experiment and analysis are all showing the struts with low slenderness ratio has better mechanical property than the struts with high slenderness ratio when the struts in the compression environment. The following graph shows the failure stress curve of different mechanical models which used in this experiment analysis.
