Assessment and assessment weighting
留学作业网There are two pieces of assessed work for this module.
1. An individual assignment
This takes the form of an essay and constitutes 70% of overall assessment for the module. You are required to choose ONE of the following topics:
(i) How far do you agree with the view that the choice of an appropriate entry strategy is of keyThe Assignment is provided by UK Assignment importance for success in doing business in emerging markets? Use examples of real companies to illustrate your answer.
(ii) "Chinese investments and business interests are
now to be found all across Africa" (Commission for Africa, 2005). Why might Chinese companies find the emerging markets of Africa a more attractive proposition than western multinationals?
(iii) You have been employed as a business consultant to advise a company manufacturing either mobile phones or consumer electronics products (choose one of the items only) who wishes to explore the potential of doing business in a Latin American emerging market. You must produce a report that identifies the key issues that the company will face in your chosen market and secondly offers expert advice to attain business success in that market.
(iv) In the latest report from A.T. Kearney on offshore locations, India retains the position of the most attractive location for the offshoring of business services. Using appropriate examples explain the benefits
and challenges of such offshoring to India and the implications for the development of Indian companies.
The assignment is to be between 3000 and 3500 words long and is to be handed in no later than 3.30 p.m. 1/May, 2009 at the Student Help and Information Point (SHIP), Stoddart Building.
The assessment criteria against which the assignment will be marked are explained on page 10.
